Baseball Fever

Take me out to the ball game, take me out with the crowd. You could say I've got the fever. I've been frantically trying to get my son on team before the deadline. Baseball is just a right of passage. It's fun to play and it's fun to watch any age. I can't wait for the cracker jacks, hot dogs, nachos. I want the whole base ball experience. I figure if I start my son now at an early age, he will go pro and then I can retire early. He can take care of me. It might be a lofty dream but at least I can dream and dream big.

Back in the real world, people are moving in and out of Tulsa every day. If you want to root, root, root for the home team, let us be your moving company. We are a family owned/operated local moving company. We are fully licensed and insured and can move you across the nation if that what you desire. We can also store your household items if you need. Boomtown

Owasso was named as Oklahoma's top Boomtown. That's exciting news for our area. Owasso has had the most growth since the year 2000. The factors that determined this was growth in households, average length of residence, and change in household income. Owasso's population is predicted to increase 4.3%. Some of the other contributing factors were quality of schools, highway infastructure, and accesibility and retail growth.

One of my favorite things about Owasso is the committment to character qualities. I noticed that immediately when I moved there. Owasso joined other cities to promote an environment that encourages positive character qualities in every part of the community. I love that I love in Owasso, Oklahoma. It's a great place to raise my family.

If you ever need to move locally or across the nation, please think of us at All My Sons Moving & Storage of Tulsa. We can take care of all your moving, packing, & storage needs. Please give us a call at 918-621-1102 or check out our website at www.allmysons.com/tulsa.

Illinois River

My favorite outdoor activity is our annual float trip down the Illinois River. We had so much fun last year, we decided to do it twice this season. It is 68 miles of crystal clear water rippling over flint rock down the Illinois River. This makes the perfect float trip. The Illinois is said to be the best canoe stream in the state. Experienced canoeists as well as the inexperienced enjoy this river as it winds by high bluffs, rocky islands, river birch and giant sycamore trees. It is also great for fishing all kinds and great fun w/friends and or family. Last year, we invited a new couple to join our group of friends. They were under the impression that it was a race. They finished so fast and had to wait for the rest of the crew for at least 2 more hours. The idea is to just float down the river and only paddle when you have to. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and more fun on the Illinois River.

Please give us a call at 918-621-1102 or check out our website at www.allmysons.com/tulsa if you need a honest and hardworking local or long distance moving company. We are family owned/operated. We can take care of all your packing and storage needs as well.

2nd Chances

Would you rather have a heart attack or be told you are about to have a heart attack? I'm not that into surprises. Brian Mandeville was a promising a young football star from Northeastern State. He was invited to combine and about to set out to work with NFL scouts...his dream come true. Upon completions of his physical, doctors discovered something was wrong with heart valves. Wow! I can't believe this was not discovered sooner but thank goodness someone did find it. So you can look at this new challenge as bad or good. I hope he sees the good. I know his football dreams are over. But he was invited and that is a great achievement. Sure, he's worked for this whole life. Now he has to take a new leash on life. I hope he looks at this as a gift from God. I would rather know ahead of time that my heart is not up to par. I'm quite certain most heart attack victims would rather have had a warning. His life will take a different path and he will still get a great education. This is just another reminder at how quickly your life can change.

If you are looking for great moving company, look no more. All My Sons Moving & Storage of Tulsa can take care of all of your moving and storage needs. We are a local & long distance moving company. Overcoming Hard Times

I was just listening to an interview of a writer/director/actor named Tyler Perry. I have only seen one of his films but I think I need another dose. He has such a great story to tell. He was abused and homeless even into his 20's and is now a millionaire. He is so inspiring. When asked how did you overcome all or your hardships, he stated that it was "his faith and belief in God." Wow. Not everyday do we hear celebrities make those statements. But that is what got him through everything. He wrote about his hardships and basically wrote himself letters. He said that he prayed every day and suggested everyone do the same and to work as hard as you can. He sends a powerful message of hope and faith and it is present in all his works.

My favorite part of his story was when the interviewer suggested that he had a shoe fettish. He initially laughed it off but the admitted that in fact he did. He met a homeless women and recalled his time when he was homeless only having 1 pair of shoes. She asked him for a pair of shoes. I guess she would have taken anything, regardless of the fit. He brought her into the theatre where he was working and found shoes for her and she said, "Thank you Lord, my feet are finally off the ground." That resonated with him and does with me as well. We need to be grateful for all that we have, pray, and work hard every day. That is why he has so many shoes now, to keep his feet off the ground.

Believe everything you see or hear

Do you believe everything you see or hear? I like to think I can trust people on their word. But that new show, Lie to Me has opened my eyes a bit. It is very interesting. I consider myself to be a good judge of character and I think I can tell most of the time when someone is lying to me but now, I'm not too sure. You have to check out the show for yourself. All the little micro expressions that people make are done subconsciously. Apparently, it doesn't matter what country your from or what customs you have. These micro expressions are apparently involuntary. On the show, they have all kinds of politicians and celebrities and they show them making these gestures and compare them to everyday people and criminals as examples. I wonder if the show and it's writers might even get in trouble for brining this to the forefront. They have shown President Obama & former President Bush in different situations as well.

I can tell you this. All My Sons Moving & Storage of Tulsa is an honest to goodness business. We care about our reputation and we want repeat referrals. That's our bread and butter. Since we are a family-owned & operated business, your opinion of us matters and we take it to heart. If you need help with a local or long distance move or you just need us to store your household items for a while. Give us a call, you won't be sorry. 918-621-1102

Spring Cleaning

The trees are budding, flowers are blooming, birds are singing but my house still feels like it's stuck in the winter blues. I know Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow but I'm hoping to usher in some springlike conditions. So here's my spring cleaning checklist: Dust. Dust everywhere, ceiling fans, blinds, windowsills, behind the fridge, washer and dryer and don't forget the coils, wash the drapes, reorganize my dvd's & the kitchen junk drawer. Basically, we need to declutter. Then there's the garage. We've gotta get those Christmas containers back in the attic and clean out the garage. Or better yet, Call All My Sons Moving & Storage of Tulsa.

Let us do the work for you. We can take all of your seasonal items and put them in our storage for you. We are a family owned and operated local & long distance moving & storage company. Give us a call. No job is too small or too big for us.

Good News for Tulsa

Things are looking up for Tulsa. We have one of the lowest unemployment rates at 4.9%; almost 2.5 points lower than the national average. Tulsa is a great place to work and raise a family. First time home buyers will be able to get $8,000 tax credit w/the stimulus bill being signed. I think this is great news when mostly what we hear about is so negative. Tulsa hasn't been hit as hard and with that piece of good news, people from Florida and Arizona are racing to move to this great state.

All My Sons Moving & Storage of Tulsa is encouraged by the numbers. We are ready for the challenge of moving all these new families into their new homes while continuing to take great care of local customers as your local mover. We are a family owned and operated business with the highest ranking with the Better Business Bureau. Go check it out for yourselves.

24-TV show

I have to admit that I am addicted to Fox's TV show-24. It is my favorite show and it is full of adrenaline. I mean, I am on the edge of my seat the entire show and have to plan bathroom breaks for commercials so that I don't miss a thing. I can not DVR the show because I must see it as soon as possible. I stay glued even when it's over because I must see the previews for the following week.

Jack Bauer is the man. I wish we had more people like him. Then again, maybe we do and just don't know about it. Now there's a thought. I often think, the story lines are so real, it must be real. Who is America's real Jack Bauer? Surely we have one. Jack is so self sacrificing, always trying to do what is best for the majority. It's a good premise anyway. I, for one can't wait to see tonight's show. Will the first man survive his gunshot wounds? Or will someone sneak in and kill him while no one's looking?

Tony Almeida's return was exciting to see. I missed him not being on the show and Bill Buchanan was always one of my favorites as well as the wierd but very smart Chloe O'Brian. I hope they keep them in the upcoming shows and seasons.

February 16th, 2009 is shaping up to be a pretty day. All My Sons of Tulsa is all over the metroplex helping families move into their new homes. Thank you Tulsa for choosing us for your moving needs.

Patriotic Friday

We live in the land of the free because of the brave. So why not show our solidarity? The Americans who support our troops are the silent majority. Let's stand together and show our support. The idea is that every RED blooded American who supports our young men and women wear something red on Fridays until all the troops come home. For us, their blood runs red.

I have always tried to lead by example. Since I am former Air Force and my father in law served in the Vietnam War & Gulfwar, my grandfather was a pilot in WWII, I feel it is my duty to be patriotic. But, it's not just a duty, it's an honor. So let's spread the world people.

It is turning out to be a beautiful day here in Tulsa. We might even reach 70 degrees today. We here at All My Sons are honored to live in this great nation and have enough work to keep us busy.

Valentines Day

Why do we celebrate Valentines Day? One legend tells that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. An Claudius II (emperor) decided that single men made better soldiers than those with families. He outlawed marriage for young men (potential soldiers). Valentine, realizing the unfairness of the new law, disobeyed the emperor and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius II ordered that he be put to death. Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.
According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailor's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine. (History.com)

Here a few popular gift ideas for this Valentine's Day; Canon SD100 digital camera, Kodak digital picture frame, vacuum cleaner robot, MP3 player by Samsung, Monster's Radio play...it's like having a MP3 play right into your car stereo, or a Mini HD 230camcorder.

From of us at All My Sons of Tulsa to you, Happy Valentine's Day.

American Idol

I have been a fan of American Idol since day one. I haven't decided what part I like best. Is it the part in the beginning when all the delusional people think they can sing embarrass themselves or when I see my favorites do well. I'm still of the opinion that the group performances are a total waste of time. I really disliked all of the drama displayed by so many. And the girl in the bikini....she was hot but that's not what it really is all about. I am not sad to see her go.

The new judge is fine I suppose. She has not really added anything to the show yet but she is a very talented person, so maybe I will appreciate her judgement soon. I did agree w/her opinion on the bikini girl.

My favorites so far is the Robert Downey Jr. look alike. I think he could win it all plus he has an awesome back story. The girls haven't really impressed me yet this season. I, of course, am rooting for our hometown boys too. They may not have what it takes to win it all but I hope they make if far enough to get recognized and maybe win some type of recording contract.

It is still rainy here today but the sun is starting to peak out and we at All My Sons of Tulsa will be on time, rain or shine.

Stimulus Plan

Does anyone else agree that Obama and Biden seeme to be more like oil & water? I could have sworn it sounded like Obama through Biden under the train yesterday when he was trying to explain what Biden was talking about when he said, "Even if we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, if we stand up there and we really make the tough decisions, there's still a 30 percent chance we're going to get it wrong."

President Obama says the economy is in full-blown crisis, the credit crisis is real and it's not over. It's the right thing to do even though it's expensive.

I'm ready for some good news. All My Sons is still growing and trying to be the best we can be in our market. This week is our birthday, come & join us for cake!

The weather in Tulsa is sunny and great for moving. See you tomorrow.

A-Roid

Come-on! Like it's a big surprise that another famous baseball player tested positive for steriods. We all knew that you couldn't be that great without some help. I, being a huge Texas Rangers fan went from saying A-Rod to A-Fraud and now to A-Roid.

In other news, the Octuplets mom didn't seem so crazy on the Today show. It seems more like a doctor and ethics issue than anything. I did notice that she named each of the children very biblical names.

The weather today is sunny and tomorrow we expect a spectacular light show w/lots of rain. Never fear though, we will still be moving all the Tulsans to their new homes.
