Is your Moving Co. Reputable?

Whether you're moving locally or wish to relocate across the country, hiring movers may be a necessity. Not only do you avoid any heavy lifting or having to drive a moving truck yourself, you can relax knowing professionals are handling your goods and belongings. However, many innocent families are duped into hiring fly by night movers claiming to be professional moving companies. Learn how to look for signs that your movers aren't legitimate in order to hire a reputable company.

I recommend scouring the Yellow Pages or look through a public directory listing. Most reputable movers can be found easily, in more than one location. You can typically find their business number and fax number, as well. The harder it is to find a company, the more you should worry. Next, look for a business website. Though any phony moving company can design a website, it's less likely to occur this way. A company with a professional website usually spends money to keep it maintained, so it's a good sign if they have a decent website. Thirdly, choose a moving company that offers you free, in-person estimates. There is no way a mover can quote you a price without first seeing your belongings. If it seems "too good to be true," it probably is. 4th, consult the Better Business Bureau. Most companies are listed within this organization, grading them on their business antics, amount of complaints, and legality. If your mover has a bad grade with the BBB, take notice. 5th, look for reviews online or ask for references from your potential mover. A real, reputable mover can provide you with references should you need them. 6th, be referred. If you have a friend or family member that has used a particular service or moving company, ask them how their experience went. If they had a terrific experience, you can trust the company that much more. Lastly, read the fine print on your contract and ensure you actually receive a contract. An estimate form is NOT a contract. The only way to ensure you'll pay what you're quoted is by having it in writing.

All My Sons Moving & Storage of Tulsa comes with 4 generations of moving experience and we are family owned/operated. We also have an A+ rating with the BBB. So why would you call anyone other mover.

All My Sons Moving Tips

When you move or relocate, to ensure your household goods arrive at your new destination without a scratch, our Tulsa Movers recommend that you start with a good packing list so you purchase the right packing and moving supplies. This is an area where you can cut down on moving costs if necessary, just keep in mind that doing so may increase labor time either when you are packing – having to double wrap items – or unpacking – newspaper results in dirty glassware. Your time is valuable and paying that little bit extra may also buy you peace of mind.

Another way to save money and time, and to ensure you have all the basic supplies required to pack up your household, check out complete our Moving Kits and Packing Kits. Moving Kits and Packing Kits can be purchased for particular rooms or for entire households. Do a comparison on total cost if items were purchased separately and watch out for any seasonal sales. As an example of what would be included for a 5-6 room home (up to 2800 square feet):

Boxes needed; 20 Small , 11 Medium, 10 Large, 4 X-Large, 5 Heavy Duty, 6 Wardrobes, 1 Electronics Box, 2 Unprinted Newswrap, 1 Bubble Wrap – 150 ft. Roll, 1 Marker, 7 rolls of tape.

So next time you move, call All My Sons Moving & Storage or check out our website.

All My Sons of Tulsa, Best Movers in Tulsa

While there are other companies that may be reputable moving companies, there are others that aren't. Some moving companies will show up in a pick-up truck and a trailer - or even a pick-up truck and a horse trailer. Some moving companies are not licensed and insured, and not all moving companies have liability insurance. If any of their men get hurt while moving you or on your property, they can sue you. We know that some moving companies will book your move then not even bother to show up on the day of your move. Some companies may offer you lower rates and then do things just to prolong your move! As you see, not all moving companies are as good as All My Sons Moving & Storage.

Check out our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. All our employees have had professional training, back ground checks, are uniformed, are respectful of you belongings. We take pride in our work!

Doing Our Best To Avoid the Swine Flu at All My Sons of Tulsa

So the Swine Flu is making its rounds again and we all need to do our part to help prevent the spread. H1N1 virus is thought to occur in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing by people with influenza. Sometimes people may become infected by touching something – such as a surface or object – with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

What are the signs and symptoms of this virus in people? The symptoms of 2009 H1N1 flu virus in people include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with this virus also have reported diarrhea and vomiting. Severe illnesses and death has occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus. Over 90% of deaths and about 60 percent of hospitalization occur in people older than 65.

So let's all do our part in prevention by washing our hands a lot more and by all means, stay home for at least 24 hours fever free without the aid of medicines. The experts are also asking that we not flood the Emergency room with this. Make an appointment with your regular physician as soon as you feel sick.

If you need to move, give us a call. We promise we wont send anyone with the Swine Flue your way.
