The Jackson 5 sang a song years ago entitled, "who's loving you?" I'd like to pose a different question to you today. Who's moving you? Have you done your research? You are trusting a moving company with years of memories and priceless furnishings. Who are they? How long have they been in business? Now-a-days there are all types of movers out there. Of course there are reputable moving companies that offer great service to its clients. However, mixed in with the top-notch movers are amateur movers, brokers and moving companies that employ day laborers or temps to conduct moves. These local movers don't advertise their weaknesses, but as a conscientious consumer you must ask the hard questions. As you're doing your research you need to find out the following:
How long have you been in business
Are you a part of the American Movers and Storage Association
Are your movers background-checked
Are you local
Are you licensed and insured
What is your claims process Know who's moving you before you book your upcoming move. Don't wait until your furnishings are damaged or missing to find out the 411 on your moving company. A first-rate moving company will not only supply you with stellar care, but will also put your mind at ease when it comes to being able to deliver your items in one piece. Who's moving you?
