The biggest moving scam out there starts with moving companies trying to beat each others low bid to move your possessions for you. Then when the move is over your estimated cost is double or even triple what you thought it would be. You should get the names of everyone you talk to and the moving company should be easy to contact. They should have their own equipment, and full time employees. You don't want to hire a moving company that really is a broker. Make sure that who you choose is licensed and insured. If you are moving across the state line, are they really licensed to move your possessions? Ask for their MC#. I suggest also calling the BBB and see if they are a reputable company, if not, hire someone else. Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move is a good place to start too.
We at All My Sons Moving and Storage fit all the criteria you are looking for in a local moving company or long distance moving company.
