Top O' the morning to ya! The big news story today is the crooks at AIG. All across the country, there are people who are working hard and meeting their responsibilities every single day, without the benefit of government bailouts or multimillion-dollar bonuses. There are a bunch of small-businesses who are struggling just to keep their credit line open. The bonuses paid to the traders was wrong, don't they know that? They are the tiny group of people who crafted the complicated deals that wound up shaking the world's economic foundations. Our financial sector will never heal unless the financial companies who helped create this economic crisis begin to regain the public trust. The actions of AIG do just the opposite, and every American is justified in their outrage at this breach of public trust. They should be in jail with Bernie Madoff if you ask me.
