Helpful Tips

Most of us these days have some type of water filter on our refrigerator right?? Well I do, and I hadn't changed it out the recommened every 6 months. When I walked into the kitchen this morning the tile was soaked with water. I instantly thought the worst because that's usually the case. It was just the gasket on the water filter and once I removed the filter, all was ok. So now I just have to buy a new filter and then mark my calendar so I don't forget next time. I think it had been about 18 months since I changed it. Ooops. I usually vacuum that front vent on the refrigerator a couple of times a year and thought that was sufficient. It definitely is not. Once I pulled the vent off, there were massive amounts of dust bunnies. You've heard the line, "what you don't know wont hurt ya", well I thought I was doing a good job and now I know. Also, I heard that if you don't rinse your lint filter every now and then on your dryer that it could cause a fire. It really happened to someone I knew. So I do that a couple times a year just to be sure I don't fall into that statistic.
